Group rallies at Government House
A civic group rallied at Government House on April 23, demanding that the government provide farmers with communal land deeds as promised.
A government committee set up in January to deal with the issue has not solved the problem as promised, according to a representative from The People’s Movement for a Just Society, an NGO seeking justice for marginalised groups.
The committee, chaired by Prime Minister’s Office Minister Panadda Diskul, was created on January 23 to start the process of documenting communal land titles for farmers and to speed up cabinet approval for a 167.9 million-baht land bank project.
